Xavi: Mourinho tidak selevel dengan Guardiola

Dengan torehan prestasinya, Jose Mourinho disebut-sebut sebagai salah satu pelatih terbaik yang pernah ada. Tapi Xavi Hernandez malah meyakini Mou tak akan tercatat dalam sejarah sepakbola.

Sepanjang kariernya, Mourinho sudah mengoleksi tujuh titel liga bersama Porto, Chelsea dan Inter Milan. Porto bahkan dibawanya menjuarai Liga Champions 2003-04 sementara Inter sukses merebut treble gelar pada dua tahun lalu.

Berkat keberhasilannya bersama Nerazzurri, Mourinho telah sejajar dengan dua pelatih legendaris lain; Ernst Happel dan Ottmar Hitzfeld, yang mampu menjuarai Liga Champions dengan dua klub yang berbeda.

Mourinho kini bernafsu untuk mencatat sejarahnya sendiri dengan membawa timnya, Real Madrid, menjuarai Eropa untuk kali kesepuluh di masa depan.

Meski sudah meraih banyak prestasi, Mourinho kerap memperagakan sepakbola pragmatis dan menderung mementingkan hasil akhir. Jadi, Xavi menilai Mourinho tidak selevel dengan Josep Guardiola, yang menerapkan filosofi sepakbola klub sehingga tercipta permainan atraktif.

"Mourinho tidak akan masuk di dalam sejarah sepakbola," sahut Xavi kepada Reserved Area di Canal + seperti dikutip Soccernet. "Bagiku, Guardiola adalah yang terbaik dan selalu menjadi yang terbaik selama empat tahun dia melatih."

"Dia telah merevolusi sepakbola. Chelsea memenangi Liga Champions tahun ini tapi Barcelona tetap menjadi patokan untuk sepakbola dunia."

Mourinho Empat Kali Gagal di Semifinal

koclokindoblog, 26 April 2012, Madrid - Jose Mourinho memang pernah membawa dua tim berbeda menjuarai Liga Champions. Namun demikian, tak jarang juga tim yang dilatihnya tersingkir di babak semifinal turnamen yang sama.

Tersingkirnya Real Madrid di tangan Bayern Munich merupakan kali keempat tim yang ditangani Mourinho angkat koper di babak empat besar. Kamis (26/4/2012) dinihari WIB, Madrid tersingkir setelah kalah dalam babak adu penalti.

Semusim sebelumnya, Mourinho juga gagal membawa Madrid melangkah ke final Liga Champions lantaran kalah dari Barcelona. Setelah kalah 0-2 di Santiago Bernabeu pada pertemuan perdana, Madrid hanya mampu bermain imbang 1-1 di Camp Nou.

Dua kesempatan lainnya ia alami bersama Chelsea. Yang unik, tim yang menyingkirkan mereka di semifinal selalu sama, yakni Liverpool.

Yang pertama terjadi pada musim perdana Mourinho menangani The Blues, yakni pada 2004/2005. Chelsea gagal lolos setelah bermain imbang 0-0 dan kalah 0-1. Selanjutnya, The Reds berhasil menjadi juara dalam final yang dramatis di Istanbul.

Dua musim berselang, pada 2006/2007, hasil serupa terulang. Chelsea menang 1-0 pada pertemuan perdana, namun Liverpool membalas dengan skor serupa pada pertemuan kedua. Alhasil, laga pun harus diselesaikan dengan babak adu penalti.

Chelsea kalah 1-4 pada babak adu penalti dan Liverpool melaju ke final untuk berhadapan dengan AC Milan--yang mana akhirnya Milan keluar sebagai pemenang.

Kendati kerap gagal di babak semifinal, Mourinho tercatat dalam sejarah Liga Champions sebagai manajer yang pernah menjadi juara dengan dua tim berbeda. Yang pertama adalah bersama FC Porto pada tahun 2004 dan bersama Inter Milan pada 2010.

Mourinho: Barca already in final

Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho believes Barcelona are guaranteed a place in this season's Champions League final.

The Madrid boss, speaking after his side's 5-2 win over APOEL at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday, claimed a meeting with his former side Chelsea at Munich in May is impossible.

When asked about the two semi-finals in a television interview in the tunnel straight after the final whistle, Mourinho alluded to favouritism towards the Catalan club, telling TeleMadrid: "For me the big question is knowing who will play against Barca in the final.

"It will be a great semi-final, Bayern against Real Madrid, and the best team will go on to play against Barca."

Mourinho then walked away from his interviewer, who quickly followed up by asking the Portuguese why he was so certain that Barcelona would be in the final.

"Because they are very good," the Madrid boss added, before abruptly ending the interview.

Barca will first face Chelsea in the last four of the competition later this month, in a semi-final tie identical to the one the Catalans won in Pep Guardiola's first season, 2008-09, en route to the trophy, and which was marked by refereeing controversies in the second match in London.

Mourinho later said he would be "ashamed" to win in such circumstances, describing the game as "the scandal of Stamford Bridge".

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo believes that he and his team-mates will have to work hard to defeat Bayern.

"We have reached our goal, we beat APOEL and we are in the Champions League semi-finals," he told reporters after the match.

"Now we will face Bayern, it will be a very hard tie. They are a very tough side.

"I do not see myself in the final because Bayern are a side who can win the Champions League."

Madrid will visit Bayern on April 18 and will host the Bavarian giants eight days later.

Robson: Jose can succeed Fergie

koclokindoblog, 30 maret 2012, Manchester United legend Bryan Robson believes Jose Mourinho has the right credentials for the ''near impossible'' task of one day succeeding manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Ferguson has celebrated his 70th birthday and the 25th anniversary of his appointment at Old Trafford this season and is showing little sign of slowing down.

Because of that, Robson, Ferguson's former captain, does not think the club have even thought about the identity of their next manager. But Robson knows the time will come when the issue has to be dealt with and he feels Real Madrid's former Chelsea boss would be a good fit.

The former England captain, speaking at the Soccerex forum in Manchester, said: ''As far as I am concerned, and from what I know about Manchester United, they are not considering that at the moment.

''How do you replace Sir Alex Ferguson? It is near enough impossible. But they are going to have to do that and Mourinho is definitely one who would be up at the top of the list. His record speaks for itself.''

Aside from the suitability of Mourinho, who has won the Champions League with Porto and Inter Milan, Robson feels United might have other candidates closer to home.

Robson has been impressed with the work of Ferguson's assistants Mike Phelan and Rene Meulensteen and would consider them as good options.

He said: ''Whoever goes in there they will have their opinions and ideas, but because of the success United have had over the last 20 years, you can't go in and rip everything apart and try to rebuild the way you think it should be.

''How can you do that after so much success? Why not Mike Phelan and Rene take over from Sir Alex Ferguson when he does decide to pack in.

''That never gets mentioned but they know how it works. It has always has to be someone who is really well known with a track record.''

Trezeguet: Mourinho a victim of Messi success

David Trezeguet believes Jose Mourinho would have enjoyed considerably more success were it not for Lionel Messi's Barcelona.

Portuguese Mourinho is regarded as one of the finest coaches of his generation, and lifted the Copa del Rey in his first campaign at Real Madrid last season.

He won the Champions League at Porto and Inter Milan, but was foiled by Barca in the same competition during his time at Chelsea.

Former France international Trezeguet feels Mourinho would have added several more titles to his impressive CV were Argentine forward Messi not such a force for Barca.

"If Messi was not at the club, Mourinho would have earned 10 times more trophies than he has won," Trezeguet told Tyc Sports.

"He is the best in the world. He takes the ball and goes one on one with the keeper six or seven times per game - he is outstanding among ten other outstanding players.

"Barcelona are bright, while Madrid, one of the best teams in the world, still live in the dark."

Trezeguet said his fellow professionals have offered the highest praise of Mourinho's approach to coaching.

"Everyone has spoken well of him to me," he said.

"The players of Porto, Chelsea, Real Madrid. He has a lot of dialogue with the players and is a great motivator."
