Andrea Pirlo is a world class player, possessing dazzling feet and a phenomenal ability to read the game. He understands his team-mates and the rhythm of the play, knowing how and when oppose his authority if need be.

The playmaker has a strong shot, characterised by extreme precision, a term frequently attributed to his lethal free-kicks. Above all, it’s Pirlo’s complete coolness in moments that count - as far as he’s concerned there’s no difference between taking a penalty in training, or appearing in the World Cup final.

This is a common quality in leaders, a merit that could only be claimed by the authentic driving forces, players who are destined for glory.

The midfielder is a born leader. He began his football career with Brescia, making his Serie A debut at 16 years of age in the 1994/95 campaign. Pirlo became a playmaker and featured in that role at the Rigamonti, then with Reggina and Inter, before returning to Brescia in 2001.

In order to accommodate both Pirlo and Roberto Baggio in the same side, the former altered his position and became a midfield general, a role that would bring both him and Milan great success throughout ten consecutive seasons in red and white.

His career record is impressive: a Club World Cup Championship, two Champions League wins, two European Super Cups, two titles, one Italian Super Cup and one Coppa Italia. Internationally, he won the 2000 Under-21 European Championships and was the top scorer, a bronze medal in the 2004 Athens Olympics and finally the 2006 World Cup in Berlin.

At Juventus he will be reunited with many team-mates who shared that fantastic adventure. Together they will contribute to write new pages of an extraordinary career.
