On Friday, Guardiola, 41, revealed he would step down as coach of the La Liga giants.
Guardiola has led Barca to 13 titles in four years and the former Real Madrid man believes the Barca boss should be respected for what he has achieved at Camp Nou.
"Pep is not only a great coach, but also a gentleman," Beckham posted on his official Facebook page.
"I'm a fan of Real Madrid, but I loved the way his team played and he deserves everything he has achieved. I wish him well."
Beckham spent four years with Barcelona's bitter rivals Real before joining LA Galaxy in 2007.
