Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand believes his side must win every game as they attempt to secure their 20th league title.
After Manchester City's victory over Chelsea on Wednesday, United are only one point clear of their city rivals at the top of the Premier League.
The former West Ham and Leeds man is happy his side have the slight advantage but realises there is still much work to do with nine games remaining.
"We're in the position at the minute that we want to be," he told Sky Sports News.
"We want to be top at this stage of the season, but more importantly we want to remain there until the end of the season.
"I think this is a vital period, each game is a must-win game. At the moment, if we win all of our remaining games until the end of the season, we will be champions. That's what we're going out to do.
"We've left ourselves in a position where we are going to be a couple of points behind or on top. Right now we are top and we have got to finish it off."
The 33-year-old has already won five Premier League titles with the Red Devils but said that only motivates him to secure future successes.
"There is no better feeling at the end of the season than sitting there and knowing you have got a winners' medal hanging around your neck," he added.
"Those are the memories that you think about and drive you on to achieve things and try to be a part of this club's history."
